This weblog is my humble attempt to express and attune my heart and mind to the Spirit of Truth, and to share that attempt with you, who visit and read and ponder what is written. I invite you to comment, share your thoughts as well, that together we may find the way to Truth and lasting peace, in our lives, on Earth, and beyond time and space.
The inspiration for this comes from my favorite daily prayer, which begins all prayers and important endeavors in life, in my faith tradition, the Holy Orthodox Church. It is called the Trisagion:
“In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
Glory to thee, our God, glory to thee.
O heavenly King, O Comforter, the Spirit of truth,
Who art in all places and fillest all things; Treasury of good things and Giver of life:
Come and dwell in us and cleanse us from every stain, and save our souls, O gracious Lord.”
Truth was also important to the founding fathers of the United States of America. Thomas Jefferson, who wrote our Bill of Rights, was imperative about the role of freedom in achieving truth. “In a free marketplace of ideas, the Truth will win out.” Freedom is the path to Truth. And in the search for Truth, whether we recognize him or not, we find God, for He is the Spirit of Truth. And so, I strive always to find the bottom line Truth, through ideas freely expressed.
I make no claims to being right, correct or accurate. Quite often in fact I am certain I miss the mark. But I assure you my intentions are pure of heart. If I err, if I miss something, I welcome correction. Thank you.
